A Pair of Detentions in the Aftermath of London Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack
An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.
A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. They both are still being held, authorities confirmed.
The arrests come after a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, two women had stolen from them their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.
A three-year-old girl was one of the those hurt in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.
Police detained a man in his thirties for suspected robbery and assault close to the location. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.
Authorities were alerted at about 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals injured by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.
The attack - which police said was isolated and not being treated as terrorism - resulted in delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
